John Koudounis assumed the position of Calamos Investments CEO in 2016 and has more than 35 years of experience on Wall Street. In 2008, he was recognized as the youngest CEO on Wall Street, serving as President and CEO of Mizuho Securities USA. During his tenure, he built the firm into a top 10 Global Investment Bank. Since joining Calamos, Koudounis has more than doubled the assets under management. He expanded Calamos’ executive talent with key hires in personnel and investment teams with innovative strategies to enable firm growth. Mr. Koudounis is often sought-after for speaking engagements at conferences worldwide and frequently appears on financial news programs such as CNN, Fox, Fox Business, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, TD Ameritrade, Yahoo Finance, and others.

Koudounis is a member of Concordia, the Bretton Woods Committee, as well as a board member of World Business Chicago and the National Hellenic Museum. He is a patron of Prince’s Trust International and an executive advisory board member for the SEAL Future Foundation. He is a founding board member and executive committee member of The Hellenic Initiative, a member of Leadership 100 and President of the Metropolis of Chicago Foundation. In 2016 he was inducted as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Order of St. Andrew, and serves on the board of the National Council of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle. He also serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation.

Mr. Koudounis graduated from Brown University, where he played football and earned degrees in International Diplomacy, Foreign Affairs and Economics. He is a devoted husband and father to his twin daughters.
